Hi, I'm Molly. I'm an avid traveler and a student of cultures, curious about why we create, how we connect, and where we tell stories along the way.
Someone told me once to pay attention to the things you can't not do, and for me, worship is one of those things. Wherever I go, I'm asked to help people connect to something greater than themselves, often through the arts. Musically I'm known for soulful vocals, and I've performed as a worship leader for over a decade with many artists and faith communities. In 2008, a passion for the arts inspired my friends and me to found a nonprofit that designed new ways for artists and churches to create together. We called it ByFor. In 2015, Fuller Seminary Northwest acquired ByFor to form The Cascadia Residency. I'm currently working with The Cascadia Residency for its pilot year and also with Bellevue Presbyterian Church as an Artist in Residence. I've accepted a fellowship at Princeton for fall of 2017.
Other life-long passions include advocacy for disadvantaged children and youth. I grew up working closely with the medical organization Healing the Children, helped run a preschool for orphans in China with the Philip Hayden Foundation, and served for many years on the board of Seattle Street Youth Ministries.
In my spare time, I work a rotating roster of startups and Fortune 500 companies, bringing form to ideas where design and tech meet. My film and insights work has been shared in classrooms across the world, awarded by IxDA, featured in KPCB's 2017 Design in Tech Report, and nominated as a FastCo World Changing Idea. My writing has been published in Arcade.
